Q: Why do some people seek out Chiropractors?

A: Chiropractors are trained to evaluate the spine and determine if there are misalignments called “subluxations.”These misalignments sometimes have adverse effects on our nervous system, leading to other health problems.

Q: Will my insurance pay for Chiropractic Care?

A: Most insurance companies and Medicare plans pay for Chiropractic Care. You need to check your health plan for your coverage and co-payment information. If you do need to pay out-of-pocket, you will find Dr. McCartney to be the most affordable Chiropractor in this area.

Q: What does a visit with Dr. McCartney consist of?

A: Dr. McCartney will perform a physical exam evaluating the entire body for any injury and any subluxation. He will review your medical history and determine if chiropractic care is the right option for you.

Q: Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?

A: Most patients experience little or no pain from the adjustment. Dr. McCartney emphasizes the use of ice therapy should soreness occur.

Q: How many visits should I expect?

A: Dr. McCartney will make a care plan with you to address your immediate problem. The number of visits will decrease as your pain and symptoms subside. Many patients continue to see Dr. McCartney for both Wellness Care and to make sure the original problem does not return.

Q: Can I see a Chiropractor if I have had back surgery in the past?

A: Most certainly!Patients who still have pain after back surgery often benefit greatly from chiropractic care. X-Rays may be required to see the structural changes in the spine. If you have post-surgical X-rays, please bring them. Dr. McCartney may need to order additional X-Rays for comparison, which can be done in our office.
